About Sam's Beauty Lodge
Who is Sam?
Its not every day that you get to turn your hobby into your job, but that's exactly what I have done.
Being a plus sized, career woman in a male dominated industry was challenging at times but I became very successful. Having confidence in my abilities and looking good gave me an edge.
Nails always gel polished, lash lift and HD Brows to frame my face finished off my look (along with an obsession with handbags). I was a confident force to be reckoned with in the board room.
Where it fell down was walking into a beauty salon or nail salon and being the big woman in a room full of very attractive, often younger and definitely thinner women.
I also suffered from damaged nails from over drilling after a time, poor application from some high street nail parlours that didn't last due to using cheap, unsafe products and feeling like I was on a conveyor belt being pushed through a nail machine and out the door, so the next person could take my seat that I was barely out of.
I wanted somewhere where I could feel comfortable, not be conscious of my weight or judged, have my nails manicured by a professional who knew how to do it without using a drill. I wanted to be able to sink into the experience and completely forget the world for a while and enjoy the moment. Also somewhere to park as driving round and round for parking spaces and nearly missing my appointments was a frequent issue and would be nice.
After years and years of trying different salons and spa's I decided to get qualified and do my own nails, then I did more qualifications as I loved learning and I found that I loved beauty too. I had a dream taking shape of running my own beauty business.
Then a couple of years ago I was made redundant, along with a good proportion of the world and I thought 'if your ever going to do it, now is the time'.
Sam's Beauty Lodge has been created to offer everything I had wanted from my beauty experience and more. It also has free onsite parking!

Offering a variety of nail, brow, facial & lash treatments, including special occasion packages, Sam will ensure that every client is polished to perfection in her spacious and luxurious beauty salon.
We are happy to come up with bespoke packages just for you. All you have to do is ask. We also offer gift vouchers which can be personalised to fit every occasion or have a personal message put on them.

A lot of press has rightly been given to cheap, imported products that are causing life threatening allergies. These are the 'do it yourself' products available from online shops, along with mis-matching unsuitable and unsafe lamps, or salons using unregulated imported products.
At Sam's Beauty Lodge, Basingstoke, we will only use reputable known brands and none of the non standard white bottle brands (some of which do not come in a white bottle but this is the standard group name for this type of product).

A calm, friendly, private and comfortable environment where clients can destress, enjoy being pampered and come out feeling fantastic.
All appointments are on a one 2 one basis so the client has my full attention at all times and can therefore totally relax and indulge in some much needed 'me' time.
